Parker Toastmasters is a club that is held up by the interests and strength of its members. As the existing members gain traction in speaking and leadership, they are able to provide valuable experience to members that are new to public speaking. Whether you’re new to speaking, nervous on stage, or want to get the perspective of another member on something you’re planning to present, signing up for mentorship at Parker Toastmasters would be a smart choice.
Who can sign up for mentorship?
Any Parker Toastmasters member that would like coaching or another perspective on what they are planning on doing in the club.
What are some specifics you can help with?
There are many elements to a successful presentation. It could be assistance with nervousness, stage fright, enunciation, body language, speech structure, planning, or vocal variety.
Can’t I just read online articles and books to help me speak?
We absolutely encourage you to continue developing yourself by reading articles and books about public speaking and leadership. The problem with articles is that they are one-way communication. They cannot give you direct feedback on things specific to you. Mentors can have a sharper eye and quickly assess where the weak and the strong points are.
Who are the mentors?
It is a member of Parker Toastmasters that you feel can help you the most. This is why we encourage you to visit the club, listen to speeches from different speakers, and see who is doing the things you want to improve upon. We can connect you to that member.
