Congratulations Bruce Ekins!

Congratulations to our very own Bruce Ekins, VP of Membership, for is his outstanding evaluation during the evaluation contest at the Metro Division Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest on Saturday October 13th. I am very proud to announce that Bruce took 3rd place and represented everything Parker Toastmasters is about to the highest degree. Congratulations Bruce for a job very well done!

There were about sixty attendees representing clubs from across the Metro Division. Each contestant put their heart into preparing for the contest and it showed. The test speaker Greg Jameson (Castle Rock Toastmasters) gave an outstanding speech on “Being Prepared” for the evaluators’ test speech. Congratulations to all who competed in the event.

The winners of the Metro Division are:

Evaluation Contest

  1. Angela Jankousky (South Suburban Toastmasters)
  2. Amy Brown (MoneyGrammars)
  3. Bruce Ekins (Parker Toastmasters)

Humorous Speech

  1. Kathy Fortune (Meridan and Spirited Speakers)
  2. Marcia Wood (Jackson Keynoters)
  3. John Beachem (MoneyGrammars)

The first place winners, Angela and Kathy, will represent the Metro Division at the District 26 competition at the Fall Conference November 9-10, 2012.

Congratulations to the winners and to each participant. You all “traveled from good to great and beyond!”

I would like to recognize the Parker Toastmaster members who braved the cold rainy weather and traveled to north Aurora to support Bruce Ekins and all the Metro Division contestants: Joanna Knott, Nina Minary, Bill Bevard, Marcy Brack, Sundeep Gopagoni, and Eric Dunham (Photos)
